Carol Donaldson began her professional career as a touring theatre musician, working as a pianist before transitioning into repertory theatre as a Musical Director and composer. With a deep love for vocal harmonies, she often incorporates layered harmonies into her songwriting—much to the challenge of the actors performing them.

Her passion for music expanded when she discovered the joy of leading community choirs, where harmonies take center stage. She recognizes the distinct difference between creating music for professional theatre performances and crafting music for wellbeing, community connection, and harmony. Enjoying both aspects, she has taken part in several theatre projects that integrate a community chorus.

Carol specializes in writing bespoke songs and music for repertory theatre, ranging from subtle soundtracks to full-scale original musicals. Her compositions extend to television and radio, where she enjoys creating music that enhances visuals and theatrical action.
