Contemporary Dance: Imagination and Communication - Lewis Wheeler

Contemporary dance draws on a rich heritage of classical and modern dance forms, but places the expressive dancer at the centre of the practice,
rather than just contorting them into prescribed shapes and forms.
These workshops are suitable for complete beginners, as well as more experienced dancers.
Teenagers & Adults
In these classes we will explore dance technique - how to put our bodies where we want them to be, when we want them to be there.
We will also take part in fun and playful improvisation activities that will either deepen our connection to each other as dancers and/or lead to short in-class performances.
We will also look at simple choreographic tasks that lead to unexpected and exciting performances.
The classes are fun, playful and suitable for all bodies.  In contemporary dance everything is adaptable to fit the people who are dancing.
N.B. Although each class will be different this is not a 'series' of classes - attend as many or as few as you wish.
